Whitley Strieber talks about Stories from The Messengers

Audio interview now on Whitley Strieber's site
Return of the Night Messengers: Owls, UFOs and a Deeper Reality

Author and host Whitley Strieber
One of the most inspiring, beautiful and thought-provoking Dreamlands ever recorded. Mike Clelland joins Whitley to discuss his ongoing research into the relationship between owls and the close encounter experience.

Mike proceeds to tell a series of wonderful, mind-bending stories about how owls fit into the very complex picture that is close encounter.

If ever there has been a Dreamland that advances consciousness, it’s this one. We are truly at the edge of an unknown country here, and stepping forth into a new vision of reality.

I liked it until it reached the 27-minute mark and he said: “Free Dreamlanders will now be subjected to a loud, screeching tone for the next thirty minutes.”

In 1974, my daughter was just over a year old and toddling. I lived in a tiny cottage with one door that opened onto the street with a step up onto the pavement.
One night I had put her to bed and noticed that the stuff I used to coat the floor after washing it had been opened and some drops were spilt. Realising she had opened it, I got her up as my husband was asleep in bed. In those days there were no mobile phones and we didn't have a landline. I took her with me in her pushchair, to the phone box which was up a hill the other side of the small village, thinking I'd ring the hospital and check if it was harmful or not.

It was night, there was nobody around. I didn't see anyone or any traffic.
As I reached the top of the hill where the phone box was, I saw a Huge white owl fly silently across the road and into the woods. I was stunned by it's size. I watched it's flight in amazement.
I rang the hospital, all was OK and I went home and put my child back into bed.

A few minutes after I'd put her back into bed, there was a knock on the door. A very tall man stood there, he had wide shoulders and chest and wore a black overcoat. He said he was a policeman and had seen me go to the phone box and asked if everything was all right. There was nothing about his appearance that suggested he was a policeman. We didn't have a patrolling policeman in the village. I told him all was OK and what had happened. He asked if I was alone and if he could come in. I said my husband was in bed upstairs and he left quite hurriedly.
I have thought over the years and although it's ridiculous, I think he was the owl.

What time did the man knock on the door?

Islamic people believe in a type of spirit being called jinn, which live on another dimension but can travel to our physical dimension. They also have powers we don't like shapeshifting and teleporting. It honestly sounds like something out of a scifi novel but truth is stranger than fiction. I find it weird there is an obsession with assigning a "rational" explanation to everything while denying a "fantastical" explanation.
