The husband wife writing team of Trish and Rob MacGreggor.
Synchronicity is an an elusive subject, but it's been the focus of the last three books written together by the husband and wife team of Trish and Rob MacGregor. They've also created a website with a daily posting about synchronicity called Synchro Secrets. The main focus of this interview is the book to the left.
During this recorded interview we take turns sharing a slew of stories - and all of 'em are synchro-weird! We spend a lot to time on how synchronicty and UFO's are somehow intertwined with each other.
I also want to recommend an audio interview between Trish and Anne Strieber (Whitley's wife) from the UNKOWN COUNTRY site. This is lively conversation and it makes for a tidy companion to my interview.
Here's a link to a listing of all of their books.

Here's a funny little thing that happened during our conversation, Trish and Rob spoke about their time with Budd Hopkins. They shared a story where they drove him to meet with a person who claimed a UFO abduction experience. Now this is odd because I also interviewed another author who wrote a book on sychronicity, his name is Gibbs Williams and during that discussion Gibb's also said he had worked with Budd Hopkins.
So, we have two books on synchronicity, and all the authors surprise me by bringing up Budd Hopkins during the interview!

Here's a question from the interview:
I’ve been interacting with a lot of people who claim the UFO contact experience. And I can state this with absolute certainty, these people have MORE synchronicities than the average person without any UFO connection. Why is that?

hi Mike! first, i can't tell you how much i enjoy your interviews - they are really growing on me!
here's a synch you mite like. years ago (~15) i was living at a tibetan buddhist meditation center and dating a native american trained medicine woman. while out and about one day, i bought a pack of cigarettes (first and only time in my 49 years). i just had an impulse to do so, had the cash, so got them and popped the pack into my purse. (they were american spirit brand, but i got cigarettes, not the loose tobacco which would be appropriate for a tobacco offering.)
a few days later, i was shopping in a ladies clothing store in the gourmet ghetto area of berkeley, CA. i found something i wanted to buy (ha! that's unusual enough for this picky dresser!) and took it to the counter to purchase the item (i forget what it was). as i wrote the check, something about the date struck me and i said 'Ah! what a special day!" the young woman helping said "it's my birthday." "oh!" i said, " so these are for you!" and pulled the pack of cigarettes from my purse and plopped them down on the counter in front of her.
the young woman turned pale and looked at the cigarettes as if they were a snake that would bite her. she said "i stopped smoking a year ago today." i congratulated her, but she just kept staring at the cigarettes and looked more upset than before....i made a couple of noises, but she seemed well and truly freaked by the whole thing and didn't really respond, so i ended up leaving the store. i never had any further contact with her and had never seen her before, so my gut is that this was all about her - i was just in the right place at the right time and open enough to play a part.
as i remember this took place within a week or so of my own birthday, and i have a feeling i was shopping for 'a present for myself', but i don't remember for sure that part.
the grandparent i was closest to died of lung cancer from smoking, as a result i've never smoked. but i have had a chronic lung condition since i was 15 that has almost killed me more than once, so there's a lot of energy around all that lung/smoking/health nexus.
i've experienced plenty of other synchronicities. no ufo/or 'alien' contacts here, but i had a big old NDE when i was 20.
thank you for these great shows!!! steph
...Oh and what I originally came here to write was;great podcast,they just get better and better,Mike.
And it's funny you mention Grand Teton peak.It brings me to this synchro that I had with Mary Soliel at her blog;

I thought they must have been in Colorado,where Mary lives,since she seems to have taken the photo on her blog.
Darren,
That photo is taken from the other side of the Teton range, maybe 15 miles (or less) from where I am sitting.
Yep, that's the Grand Teton. A peak I've climbed many times.
Peace,
Mike C!
Oh and speaking about lasers,trash and money clips...you might like to read her current post about the laser light money clip;

Cheers.
some of the info/concepts in this discussion seem to be overlapping with the discussion on Luminosity on Dan's 'The Unspeakables' post. I was commenting about how i'd never had any paranormal experiences whatsoever until a NDE at age 20 - since then i've had a taste of just about everything except contact with 'classic' aliens (greys, nordics) or lights in the sky. accoring to P.M.H. Atwater's research on the after effects of NDEs this is pretty standard.
Dan responded: "...One has to wonder if the NDE is itself a "first sighting". I had strange experiences before it, but the way I responded and the mystique I put into them didn't change until having my own brush with death. " which ties in with your question, Mike: "I’ve been interacting with a lot of people who claim the UFO contact experience. And I can state this with absolute certainty, these people have MORE synchronicities than the average person without any UFO connection. Why is that?".
my own feeling about this is that it's a combination of a) widening of 'vision' or input - information and sensory input is no longer limited to the traditional five senses or the traditional space-time constraints. i'm more 'psychic', to put it one way. you are aware of all the mundane human stuff plus stuff on the astral, you hear other people's thoughts and feel their emotions, you remember your dreams better, you get flashes of the future, etc.
b) you are stripped away of some of the standard human programming/habits. it's like your psychological/mental/emotional structures get shook up and freed up in a way that almost emanates out into the world around you...so you have a more direct 'connection' to the outer world or reality or the way things really are, so to speak.
to be clear, this DOES NOT make you any smarter or better than anyone else. but it does allow the thoughts, feelings, wishes you are generating to have more power to create effects in the outer world sometimes. it does allow you to behave in a way that gets closer to (i'm speculating here) the actual way 'causation' works and so play a role in events like the one i describe in my first comment in this thread.
i don't know if this makes a lick of sense, and it's all just ideas that have percolated themselves up in the couple of decades since my NDE. i'd like to emphasize these (possible) capabilities in no way make a person better, more evolved or more ethical or compassionate than anyone else. in fact, these abilities can be used for nasty purposes.
anyways, any questions or feedback on this would be very welcome - i would love to have some answers or understanding about these experiences, and it's pretty rare to find others with similar experiences and the willingness to discuss them.......take care, steph
Oh wow! The Antimatter section in OMNI magazine had a *huge* impact in my Fortean formative years. Kudos to Trish and Rob for that :)
@ Steph & Darren: great comments! And if I'm not mistaken, the first time I saw an ad for the American Spirit tobacco was in Omni magazine, so there ;)
What I found interesting about the picture Mary took of the Grand Teton,was it sparked a debate in the comments section of the post as to what the cloud formation over the Grand Teton looked like. She suggested a unicorn (which I could not see,to be honest),and I suggested that it looked more like a rooster's head crowing.Which lead me to ponder all my syncs linking to Abraxas,and particularity the bookshop in Byron Bay by that name,where a lot of syncs occur for me.

When I went to the web-page and scrolled through the newsletter,I found a book called "The Healing Wisdom of Birds: An Everyday Guide to Their Spiritual Songs & Symbolism" by Lesley Morrison.
(it's also available at Amazon)
The blurb says;
"As spiritual guides, otherworldly allies, and magical companions, birds have been revered for millennia. From eagles and owls to hummingbirds and wrens, this lovely and lyrical guide to bird spirituality explores the rich beliefs and practices surrounding more than forty different birds—and reveals how these venerated creatures can guide us today.
Drawing on mythology and traditions of worldwide shamanic cultures—from modern times to the Bronze Age—this book examines avian spirituality from all angles:
—What birds have symbolized through the ages and why
—How to decipher bird messages in your life
—Bird deities from Aphrodite to the Valkyries
—Avian presence in ancient cave art, shapeshifting rituals, magic practices, and religion
—How to discover and work with your totem bird
From exploring the five stages of soul alchemy to helping protect our feathered companions, The Healing Wisdom of Birds offers a variety of practical ways to connect with these sacred creatures".
And if you look through the book contents at Amazon,chapter 3 is called "The Bird Shamans",which strikes a cord with me,anyway.
I haven't read it,but I hope to soon,as the universe seems to be nudging me towards it.
Steph--You've said it for me--and really well. I've been wondering why I seem more and more to see things so differently from others--to the point sometimes I really wonder if I'm losing my mind. I even tend to get frustrated when others just DON'T see, which I'm trying to learn to control. I feel like I'm living in a different world from everyone else--a world where I used to live but somehow do not anymore.
I'm enjoying your work a lot in the last few days since I discovered it. Keep going :)
