audio conversation with Yvonne Smith

Yvonne Smith is a clinical hypnotherapist who began her therapy practice in 1990. She started working with PTSD victims using hypnosis as a way to help them assisting them to work through and cope with their traumatic experiences. She observed that some of her subjects were describing a pattern of alien abduction and other close encounter experiences.

In 1991 Yvonne founded CERO [Close Encounter Resource Organization] which provides personal attention and maintains active monthly support meetings for people who have had anomalous contact experiences.

She has worked with Budd Hoppkins and Dr. John Mack as she continued her research with abductees.

one hour and two minutes

In 2008 she published the book CHOSEN where she examines a series of abduction cases in detail, including extensive un-edited hypnosis transcripts.

This interview is an hour long, and to make the best use of our time, I didn’t bother ask any of the normal introductory questions and jumped right into the more challenging issues that surround the abduction phenomenon.

For a good introduction to Yvonne’s work, I’ll recommend her interview on VERITAS (Here), and also two different episodes of Mysterious Universe (Here and Here).

She seemed a bit tired or distracted -- or not a great interview subject.

The "hidden experience," a life altering, if not controlling experience that is not remembered, and thus hidden. Jeeze, Mike, I'd sure like to know.

I kinda agree with Lord Jim. I don't think the interview uncovered any new or interesting information.

But the discussion about hybrids, and how they might not be able to 'fit into society' made me think. For me it's almost impossible not to wonder if there might be a connection between this possibility (the existence of hybrids) and the sad event which unfolded last week in Connecticut...

Quite possibly the stupidest thing you'll ever read this week, but there ya go.

RPJ - When I saw the huge 'McMansion' (as we call them around here in the northeast U.S.) that Mary Lanza and her son Adam lived in on that secluded lot, I thought I would not want to live there. Oddly I thought of how easily *something* could land unnoticed in that huge backyard in a wooded area. I don't normally think that way at all.

Adam, from what has been gleaned so far in news reports, was autistic (aspergers) and very bright (completed highschool in his sophmore year). He also was painfully thin looking and a vegan.
He immersed himself in violent video games.

His mother was trying to oust him from the house before Christmas, going through court proceedings to have him involuntarily committed to a mental hospital. Adam was very upset about this.

The mother also use to be a volunteer for the kindergarteners last year at the school he attacked. It's said she would rave about how she adored the children and he was annoyed and jealous of her fawning over them.

And, then there was her gun collection and involvement in survivalist groups online...All, in all, a perfect storm.
