we are being spied on

This is the stuff that is NOT discussed by our presidential candidates.

William Binney is a 32-year veteran of the National Security Agency. He helped design a top-secret program he says is broadly collecting Americans' personal data.

This man is considered one of the best mathematicians and code breakers in the NSA's history. Programs he created, intended for use on foreign operatives that have been turned against the people of the United States in a massive domestic spying operation, called "Stellar Wind," which is ongoing.

This is a subversion of the Constitution and of any number of laws.

Nice clip Mike, but it's something I already knew for a long time.
It's good that you're spreading the word though.

Nobody reads newspapers anymore, Mike, and you want them to worry about a piece of paper written more than 200 years ago?? People are too busy waiting in line to buy the new iPhone5, for crying out loud!

Good post Mike. People have no idea how wide the tentacles of the NSA and others reach around the entire globe. All we can do is A. Not Care or B. Watch the watchers using RV or the like or e tools or C.Use a proxy server - which is what the intelligence agencies do. Stallinist Amerika is just around the corner.

Of course as RPJ hints at, no one gives a shit because they're too caught up in other trappings. I suspect that such monitoring goes well beyond the 2001 flagged by Mr Binney.

The choice to me is clear - live in fear or say fuck it - it's their problem.

When it comes to privacy and reallity - all we really own is our mind and our actions. And even the monkey mind has no real substantial existence. Those who care to collate human data and graph every human, act entirely from their own fears. Nothing they do can ever touch, who you really are.

BG is right about one thing. All we own is our minds and our actions. BG is wrong about the choice we have, though. Our choice is to either confront the fact that privacy, as we're accustomed to thinking of it, is an illusion, or to get off the grid. And I mean OFF the grid ... as in Survivor off the grid ... in northern Canada ... after changing your name and telling no one what you're planning to do.

I love northern canada!

That said, I think there is an option to declare that this is NOT acceptable for our country.

This would require an enormous amount of political action. So much so that it is daunting, but not impossible.

It will take a LOT more than just people posting pithy slogans on facebook.

I agree Mike with Tim. I suppose there are many other choices, including getting politically savvy and challenging the abuse of human rights through international law courts etc.

It's really a Pandora's Box. When we dig into why, we will always end up in the lower levels of The Architecture - the so called Military Industrial Congressional Complex - which has many different faces around the globe.

Who dares go down the rabbit hole ? And at what cost to those who lead the way ?

~ Lucretia here:

I saw this coming from a long way out-- but then my lifelong experiences have tended to make me both very aware and a tad paranoid as a default setting!

I think what's going on here is that those "in the know" realize that the pressures from resource depletion or "peak everything", overpopulation, climate change coming on faster and harder than ever imagined, and vast and deep entrenched corruption and fraud-- will all reach a breaking point in our near future. When that happens and the American (and global) public wakes up and realizes that the future as we've been raised to believe in it is DEAD.

Well... heads will roll. Those in power, rather than fix what's wrong and warn the public by telling them the TRUTH about what's coming-- thus buying everyone much more time to prepare--are choosing instead to do everything possible to keep the reality of things a secret as long as they can. They use this time where they know how bad its going to be and most of the world does't as a time to protect themselves from the masses who will be out for blood.

Hence-- THIS. Its not to protect us from terrorists. Its to protect THEM from US in the uncomfortably near future.

Ok. So who among you is going to raise this question with the two candidates to the office of Most Powerful Man in the World?

Are you kidding?

This subject is absolutely verboten. I dare say there are measures in place to make sure I couldn't even attempt to ask this in any public forum.

First - a UFO blogger like me would never EVER be admitted to any situation where I could get in a position to ask this. I'll add that I am poor, so I am certain I would be dragged off an detained with that as a crime.

Second - The controlling forces would zap me with some sort of high energy beam before the words could leave my lips.

Third - They are reading this, so I may not be here tomorrow morning.

That is not a healthy attitude to maintain, Mike.

I keep thinking Grant Morrison gave us the solution during that drunken speech he gave on a conference: "If they put cameras on the streets, let's act like movie stars in front of them. So when the guy in charge of surveiling the camera looks at the footage, he will think "Man, that guy is getting fucked... I wish I was!""

Come on you guys! It's YOUR government, and YOUR tax-payer money. And even if you fail, you will be able to look yourselves in the mirror and claim that at least you tried.
