It's a cool new look,Mike. I recently changed the layout at my blog also (mainly some colours),but as you can see,if you visit my blog,I wasn't an art director in any way,shape,or form .-)
Well, as a designer, may I point out that the text in the closing bars is not very eye-friendly (too little contrast, specially if you're using a laptop).
Other than that, it's cool --and it shows you're a java junkie too :P

Nice Mike! Cleaner and easier to read - and I wear glasses all the time (trifocals - 'bad' eyes).
