The Foundation for Research on Extraterrestrial Encounters emerges as a new player

FREE is an open air university and support network for anomalous contact experiencers and researchers alike. We provide guidance tools and connectivity to those who are willing to brave controversy in order to achieve a deeper understanding of humanity’s fundamental nature. FREE was created to bridge a gap between mainstream scientific thought and credible challenges from the deep unknown.

FREE is committed to bringing together diverse voices in the subject areas of human encounters with non-human intelligence and related phenomena.
As a research and educational “think tank”, FREE is designed to support information exchanges between those who explore alleged ET contact phenomena and associated manifestations...
We are equally committed to upholding both the highest standards of scientific research, while maintaining a firm commitment to open-minded enquiry.

The above is an excerpt from the FREE website

FREE stands for The Foundation for Research on Extraterrestrial Encounters.

Over the last few months I've been talking to some of the folks involved in creating this new organization. It is specifically meant to be a hub for the abductee community. The focus is on both the experiencers and the researchers. Up until this point there has been no one-stop-shopping resource for this bastard child of the UFO research community.

The abduction phenomenon has been marginalized and dismissed by the conservative nuts and bolts wing of UFO researchers. This divide has left a lot of people alone and adrift, many of who are struggling with the profound challenges of direct contact. I recognize the very real need for such an organization in this splintered arena. I truly hope that it will fill the need that I see so clearly. I am wishing a heartfelt good luck to the dedicated folks at this new organization.

Text added same day:
I just got a note from Rey Hernandez, he is the co-founder of FREE. The formal launch date of the organization is June 1st, 2014.

I would love to add to this study... can contributions remain anonymous or are they only looking for "out of the closet" folks? I think they will lose an entire segment and therefore a great deal of valuable information if identities must be forth right.

It's a nice acronym, but just what makes them so certain they're dealing with entities of extraterrestrial origin?

I'm glad to see this being put together and would be happy to contribute if that is welcomed. Thank you for spreading the word, Mike!
