This is the back of my bedroom door. Without squinting or anything, I can see two owls and two aliens within the wood grain. And it's even weirder because the owls are seemingly floating up out of the aliens in an etherial ghost form. I've shown this to other people, and without much prompting from me, they can clearly see the owls and alien forms. I've pressed them, asking if I'm seeing something that isn't there, and they all say, "Oh no, they're there, and now that you showed me, I can't unsee them."
The images above were created using Photoshop. All I did with the door left was increase the contrast slightly to bring out the wood grain. For the image on the right, I isolated the outlines of the characters by overlaying a darker layer to highlight what I'm seeing.
Is this weird? I'm not sure what to think anymore, but it sure seems sort of weird to me.
I understand how people take in a story, and how they need a symbol or a sign on the door. But the owl is meaningless to what is on the other side of the door. It’s just the doorway that’s important.
The owl is the right symbol for the door. We are on this side, and everything else is on that side of the door. There is a LOT more! We are in this little tight hallway here, and on the other side of the door is this vastness!

Ironically that pattern reminds me of the old black and white intro patterns from the pre-colour TV series of Dr.WHO when the theme music is being played -

Hey Mike, didn't you say on a podcast that you were hypnotized once and you asked what the owl meant, and you were told something like the owl is just the doorway ... or the door?
ReplyDeleteReply to Darren:
ReplyDeleteI certainly did. And I thought about that too!

Totem bound. The owl is your totem. Shine forth brave souls, 87
ReplyDeleteSince my synchronicity involves you Mike, I'll share this: I just finished listening to the episode where you said it's the door that matters, not the owl. And lo and behold I come to this post that mentions that very same message. And for extra credit, you posted this on Dec. 3rd; my birthday is Dec. 4th.
ReplyDeleteTake a look at images of owls without feathers. I see a link to people who claim to see 'mantis aliens'.
ReplyDeleteAlso called Rorschach test.
ReplyDeleteMike - interesting - for me the writing is on the wall. So, symbolically, it seems I am "Doc Brown" from Back to the Future and literally written on the wall of the house I am renting are the builders names! One of whom is "DBROWN". There is also a date - July 21, 1966. And I suspect, for complex reasons, that the date of the Rapture to be July 21 (or the 21st day of the 7th month) and... what does the Rapture look like? ... quite a lot like a whole lot of UFOs in the sky (or at least that's how I imagine it)...
ReplyDeleteYeah. I think it looks a little weird - more than just good ole fashioned pareidolia.
ReplyDeleteI was reading an old 2016 blog post of mine about the movie 'The Man Who Knew Infinity' and he claimed to get his information from the Hindu goddess Laxmi who road an owl.
ReplyDeleteHere is why the owl is is an important figure in the myth -
Hinduism - why is goddess Laxmi shown riding on an OWL?
"The Owl, or the Ulooka in Sanskrit, is Devi Lakshmi's vahana.
Though this bird appears to be the unlikeliest vehicle for the extremely lovely Goddess, there is a deep spiritual significance as to why she selected this creature as her mount.
The Ulooka is a bird that sleeps during the day and prowls through the night.
This is because it can only see in the dark, and goes blind in the day.
This partial blindness in the creature is actually indicative of a sadhaka's (seeker) tendency of going toward the pursuit of secular instead of spiritual wealth.
The owl, in the Bhagavad Gita, is likened to an enlightened sthita prajna (the one who remains unwavering to any situation, whether it be happy or sad).
Goddess Lakshmi is also said to be the mistress of spiritual wisdom.
By keeping the owl as her vehicle, she teaches us to open our eyes to the light of the wisdom residing within us.
This Karunamayi (compassionate One) Mother, hence, symbolically keeps ignorance under her control."
Hi, I myself have never seen owls like that but I’ve heard Cardnial’s are supposed to represent a loved one looking over you and I’ve seen plenty here in Chicago. This Is Erik Garcia email is garciaerik1978@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteHeh, I was debating to myself if it was worth sharing that I had a door with the same patern I once couldn't look away from as a child, for exactly the same reason... especially after I saw the cover of communion in a bookstore for the first time (you've heard this one before). My door imediately came to mind during your episode and yup, sure enough, it's nearly identical right down to the tanning of the wood, except funny enough, mine didn't have any owls above them. When I saw the year I was born and the town I was born in in the post above me, I figured I might as well post this, I've never told anyone about that door despite it's lasting impact on me, not even anonymously, and maybe the stories want to be told, maybe that's the point. I came to think of them as the spirits of the wood the door is made from as a child, and I'm just going to do that and appreciate the nod from them again. Thanks
