owl leaves spooky imprint on window

An eerie image gets splatted onto a window

Kendal UK - A woman returned to her home to find a near perfect imprint of an owl on her window. The bird had apparently crashed into the window of Sally Arnold's home, leaving the bizarre image - complete with eyes, beak and feathers.

Experts said the silhouette was left by the bird's "powder down" - a substance protecting growing feathers. Mrs Arnold said she could find no sign of the owl, so assumed it had flown off without serious injury.

She said: "Fortunately, there was no sign of the bird and we can only assume that it had flown away probably suffering from a headache."

  1. Wow! how much does one of these birds weigh anyway? I'm surprised the glass didn't shatter.

    And what room does the window belong to? the kitchen? maybe the owl spotted a mouse enjoying a midnight snack :P

    Kind of a Mothman reminiscence, right? ;)

  2. I had a similar experience with a Sacred Kingfisher crashing into my window,which I wrote about on my blog here;

    I took some photos of him while he was stunned,and then he flew away and I haven't seen one since that day.There was no imprint on the window,but I did buy a sticker of a Sacred Kingfisher and placed it on the window,in honour of the birds "unplanned" visit.

  3. It just occurred to me: just as this owl left a bidimensional imprint of its body as it tried to pass through the window, *maybe* Mothman was the tridimensional imprint of a multidimensional being, as it tried to pass through our level of reality...
