Dan Mitchell is back

The blogger formerly known for LUMINOSITY is now writing on a new site, titled Transmissions from the Imaginal.

In the inaugural post, Dan states:

Writing is cathartic and having spent many years creating and destroying blogs, I have found that with each destruction and creation a more crisp view of truth and reality presents itself.

With that being said this blog will function as a presentation of a clearer and more numinous view.

We are due for the 2012 super-moon on saturday night

Dan Mitchell of LUMINOSITY is no longer blogging. Here is an excerpt from his final post:

I am leaving the paranormal/high strangeness field forever. While the history of this blog has been laced with various leaves of absence and returns, this will no longer be the case. This post is for the sake of progeny. I strongly suspect that present events are leading up to a "critical mass" that is now inevitable.

I owe the long time readers of this blog an explanation and I sincerely hope this post will be enough. I will begin by saying that on some level I suspect that during the writing of some of these posts that I had been inwardly compromised. Having gone over some of my older posts when everything began to come together last month, I was catching periodic errors and mis-judgments that were frankly not becoming of me or anyone else for that matter. Hence the need to ultimately take down all of my posts permanently out of fear of compromising others with ideas that may have not come directly from me as it were.

On one level, this is a loss to me personally, because I found his ideas so intriguing. His writing was so different than anyone else I've ever encountered. My own ideas on what may be behind this elusive phenomenon were greatly expanded because of his introspective essays.

On another level, he was treading in dark waters. He was articulating malevolent ideas, brutal thoughts of a hostile nature. There were times I truly worried for his sanity.

He shared some experiences that fit cleanly into the UFO abduction lore, and I know he recognized that but he saw something much more sinister at play. He recounted some stories that were so terrifying and strange that it left me at a loss to even comprehend the source of what might have been happening.

I have a very intuitive friend, Anya Briggs, and she thought that some of his darker postings might have even contained an kind of alchemical incantation burred within the text. She saw the potential for nefarious magic within these posts.

Dan implies that his writings "had been inwardly compromised." What does that mean? Was he being compelled to write certain things from a source beyond himself? If so, I understand why he is ending this on-line presence.

I feel I can address this from my own experience.

On March 22nd, 2011 I read a post on LUMINOSITY in the morning. The events shared in that post absolutely amazed me. As I was reading, I felt totally compelled to record it as an audio essay. So I did.

I need to try to describe this feeling of being compelled. As I read it that morning, my first thought was that this would make for a dramatic audio essay, and that thought soon morphed into a desperate compulsion.

It was incredibly difficult to read those words, I stammered and fumbled when I tried to record it, and I needed to edit extensively to remove my shaky muttering. I wanted to walk away and do it later when I was less emotional, but I couldn't. I needed to push through and post it immediately.

When it was up and posted, I sent Dan an email where I wrote: "Why was i so weirdly obsessed with recording this thing???"

The essay is titled Approaching the Post Human Self, and it describes his first-person experiences with some higher intelligence. The event took place on the night of the 2011super-moon. I'll add that we are due for the super-moon of 2012 just five nights from now.

Below is Dan's email, where he gave me permission to read, record and post the essay.

Hi Mike,

I have to tell you that my previous post was incredibly difficult to write for many reasons. There is so much more to the experience than I have realized and even the present answer that I have (if it is an answer at all) is really only one minuscule aspect of the thing. My guess at this point is that the encounter experience as a whole is indeed transformative, but it caters to us individually for a reason. I have so much more to expound on this whole thing without putting forth a system or solid teaching. It seems to be the most personal thing in the world.

seeing repeating numbers

I was just at a week long UFO conference in Arizona. Each morning they had an experiencer support group meeting. Imagine an AA meeting with chairs in a circle. One morning the moderator, Yvonne Smith, asked the group if they ever see any reoccurring numbers. Pretty much EVERYBODY raised their hand, including me.

Most said they were seeing 11:11 and 3:33. Both of these number sequences are part of the overall paranormal lore. There are books about 11:11 and 3:33 is reported again and again by UFO abductees in their reports.

It is so interesting that seeing numbers in a repeating pattern is part of this phenomenon. Even the channeler Darryl Anka said he sees the numbers 10:10 repeatedly.

I sense that this number thing is just a small ingredient that is intertwined within a much larger phenomenon. I don't really know how much weight to give these reports. I think it's important to pay attention, but I feel it would be unhealthy to treat them as something too powerful. I worry that shouldn't react in a way where I give certain synchronicities too much power, but maybe they deserve that power, at least sometimes.

My reoccurring and resonant number sequence has been 1-2-3, 1-2-3-4 or 1-2-3-4-5. I've tired to document each and every time I get that number and post it here in this blog. I suspect that some of these are just run-of-the-mill coincidences. But I am quite convinced that others are profoundly resonant, I would go so far as to say they are magic.

By documenting my on-going synchronicities in this very public format I think that these meaningful coincidences have increased. Or maybe I've changed, and I am co-creating them in some way.

Dan Mitchell at LUMINOSITY writes more eloquently than I do about seeing repeating numbers in a way that seems to defy logic. He even notes me in the opening of his latest post (linked HERE), pointing out my obsession with 1-2-3-4. Then he goes on to share his own experience:

For me the constant presence has been seeing the palindrome as well as the number 322. This happens so often now that I find it impossible to believe it's simply a matter of chance. For me the palindrome is a symbolic representation of an individual and its Seraph, a kind of mirrored reflection of the bi-unity nature of the individual. It is occurring likely because this has now become the focus of my own metaphysical understanding.

odd events are tailored in DEEPLY personal ways

In a recent LUMINOSITY post, Dan Mitchell wrote:

"Let me state first and foremost that I have as of yet heard of no others that have described this experience on the terms that I have.”

I feel strongly that this could be said of almost anyone on this kind of path. There is a complexity and depth to Dan’s experiences that seem to match something within him. It seems that the phenomenon is meeting him in terms that he can relate to on a profound level.

When I speak to people about their direct contact experiences I always ask them about this, about how these odd events are tailored in a way that is DEEPLY personal. These folks are quick to agree, they sense these experiences are a sort of theater directed at them and their individual needs. This isn’t a universal reply, but it feels like a majority.

This get very complicated when trying to make sense of the people with dark and horrifying experiences. I can't help but feel a very real concern when I hear these grueling stories.

I also feel that the "new-age true-believers" are being honest when they say they tell of meeting angelic space brothers who hail from the Pleiades. I suspect that is EXACTLY the imagery and narrative that they're being presented with, and it seems to meet their needs.

When I ponder my own set of experiences in this framework, I see a sort of methodical odyssey. I have been given just the bare minimum of clues. This has forced me into the role of the detective, albeit and obsessive and introspective one. Strangely, this very much seems to meet my own unique needs on some deep personal level.

ALSO:
I used the term “new-age true-believers” in the text above, and it might come across as dismissive. I recognize that plenty of folks in this UFO research community are quick to deride this faction who claim direct contact. This sub-group is very much a part of this overall phenomenon, and it does a disservice to ignore them (or reject them with contempt, which I see a lot). To be honest, I struggle with certain claims within this rather large clique. But they bring very real clues to the table that are every bit as valid as the credentialed nuts and bolts researcher.

significant FBI documents?

A momentous piece of paper as the smoking-gun? Or more clever disinformation? Click on the image for a hi-res view.

In the last few days the media has been buzzing with news stories concerning the release of FBI UFO files. I am very cautious to get worked up whenever there is a release of nothing more than pieces of paper. I don't really see it as conclusive "proof" anything. Sadly, I have a sorta short attention span for this ominous stuff about government.

Dan Mitchell (of the LUMINOSITY blog) pointed out some details in one document that he found most intriguing. He writes about it in a recent post, linked HERE. He addresses the clues within the text that point to some sort of occult knowledge .

The document is dated July 8th 1947. This is the same day as the infamous headlines in the Roswell Daily Record, the local newspaper. See the image below.

In the elusive document there is a series of numbered points, noted below. I found three of them to be most interesting. Weird stuff for an internal memo, especially from that era.

Additional text added April 18th 2011:

There is something I didn't know at the time of the posting above: these are NOT new releases. ALL the UFO files at the FBI's Vault site were declassified in 1976, and have been on the FBI's original site since that time.

People are assuming that because the FBI's Vault site is new, that the files are therefore newly-released, but they have been used and referenced in dozens of books and articles for at least 30-plus years!

Dan Mitchell posted a profoundly intense essay early this morning. Below is a short excerpt from the fascinating post.

"Within moments of looking at this light I found myself no longer standing in my backyard, but in a large open room. Whether I was taken on board some kind of aerial craft, I cannot say for certain. What I will say is that the experience at this point became more real than my own waking conscious is capable of perceiving even on my sharpest days. In other words, I was more conscious than I normally am, and I was in a room that had clearer and sharper angles than anything I had ever seen in my life.

It was almost as if I had left the human sphere entirely and entered into a place that was more real than this world. I felt unimaginably well although I felt puzzled at the same time. This part of the experience leads me to believe I was neither in or out of body, which really makes no sense."

This post was preceded with a premonition post, on the eve of the Super Moon. That essay included a statue of Minerva, goddess of wisdom and magic, with her ever-present owl companion.
