Bridget runs a website titled Hybrid Children Community. In less than a year she has had an awakening experience where she is in telepathic connection with more than one of her children. These are off-world alien human hybrid children. After starting her website she has been contacted by lots of men and women who have their own hybrid children.

Yes, I am fully aware that this is far out stuff. But it fits a very real pattern of reported experiences. What is most fascinating is Bridget's public conviction and the her lightning fast emergence onto the public stage.

This is NOT an "alien craft"

obvious camera effect and not an "alien craft"

There is a report of a "UFO" seen above the inauguration event on Monday of this week. There is a youtube video and an on-line article at UFO Sightings Daily.

Here is a quote from the article:

During President Obama's 2013 Inaugural speech yesterday...an alien ship appeared near the top of the Washington Monument. The bluish-green craft was caught when Fox News was panning in and out at the end of a broadcast.

In my opinion what is seen is nothing more than a lens effect created within the camera. The two windows at the top of the Washington Monument are lit from the inside and the alleged "craft" is basically two dots that very closely match the proportions of the windows. I added brackets in the image above as a way to measure the images, the brackets are all the same size. You can click on the image above for a hi-rez view.

I feel strongly that what is seem is an refraction an auto-exposure effect. Watching the video you can see the

The two lights within the monument and seem to be pulsing slightly, this pulsing matches the distorted shape of the "ufo" in a way that tells me I am seeing some sort of lens refraction.

• modern video cameras are very sensitive in low light and weird effects are normal when shooting a mostly dark frame with some tiny bright lights.
• the camera is slowly moving at similar rate the "craft" is moving
• the pulsing effect from the window matches the glow of the craft
• the orientation of the two windows closely matches the orientation of the two dots

This, to me, is not an "alien ship" as the article states. I am by no means an expert at photographic analysis, but I know just enough to dismiss this claims of this article. It is a disservice to what I feel is a very real phenomenon.

One of the more impressive thinkers in the podcast realm is Alex Tsakiris (left), he is the host of an amazingly thoughtful site, Skeptiko. His overall focus is the mysteries of consciousness and he has interviewed some of the leading researchers and experts in this realm inquiry. You can hear it in his voice that he's searching for answers with an intense resolve that I understand well. His long list of guests include some personal heroes of mine, like Rupert Sheldrake, Jeffery Kripal and Dean Radin.

I was inspired to interview Grant Cameron after hearing him on Skeptiko. When I talked with Grant, I basically considered the Skeptiko podcast as the introduction to my own. When I posted the audio I sent Alex a note to give him a heads up. That started a back and forth set of emails, and we both ended up asking to interview each other. Alex asks much deeper questions than I do, so I suggested that he interview me.

The result is probably the most penetrating thing I've ever been involved with since putting myself out there.

I have to thank Alex for his unwavering dedication to the exploration of some of the more challenging ideas that confront any thoughtful person.

I cannot recommend the Skeptiko sight highly enough. The subject of his shows will only occasionally touch on the UFO phenomenon. He also explores topics like the Near Death Experience, parapsychology and extended human consciousness.

Abduction Diaries

This is a cable TV documentary from 2002. There are a collection of people telling their experiences on camera. There are some rather lame cut-aways to blurry reenactments, but those aren't too intrusive. Each of these people are compelling and they tell some emotional stories.

one post taken down

I took down a post from July of 2012 titled Absurdly High Percentage of Advertising on THE PARACAST. I checked my stats and it showed that this was the 3rd most popular posting in the almost four year history of this blog. That struck me as odd, because it's not really in any way news. I suspect that the high volume of traffic for this one post came from some on-line forums somewhere.

I created that post as a way to voice my frustrations about what I consider to be excessive advertising on an audio interview show with a focus on UFOs. To me, the interruptions made it difficult for me to find enjoyment in the interviews. I was frustrated and the essay grew out of that emotion.

At one point last summer Gene Steinberg (one of the co-hosts) called me on the phone to explain his point of view.

The Paracast is a networked radio show which is also available as a download. By network edict, the downloadable version must have the same ads as the version sent to local stations. My thought is that we are now in an age where that model is no longer required to run a quality show on the web. 

Anyway, I took the post down because it didn't seem relevant to what I am trying to do with this blog. I'm not interested in getting hits on this site if the source isn't directly related to the core topics I've been covering.

extremely odd nameless website

strange and highly stylized art direction

A reader (and listener) going by the name of Lord Jim sent me a link to an extremely odd and creepy website without any title. There isn't any information about the who or why of this site.

It's not clear whether there is even a name for it, the only hint of a title is in the URL:

mother.strangled.info

It took me some clicking to figure out that there were podcasts (you need to click on the dates).  The audio is a high quality audio, usually a dialog between to unknown male voices. These guys are thoughtful and smart, and they are wrestling with big concepts. These shows are long, most are around two hours. Clicking on NOTES below these dates will bring up an essay about the audio.

There are three essays on this site and each deal with Whitley Strieber. The Key is at the core of these extremely exhaustive discourse, these are less criticism and more of a yearning kind of exploration. These guys scrutinize The Key on the Sept 26B 2012 podcast, a book they clearly call "a masterpiece."

They also examine an essay on Strieber by Aeolus Kephas, which itself is an examination of Strieber. I interviewed Aeolus (real name Jason Horsley) and much of the focus was on his thoughts on Strieber, someone he is quote fond of and fascinated by.

Some interesting discussion on the state of our society, conspiracies, paranormal matters and, of course, abductions.

Freeman

Don't ask me why, but people who claim first hand UFO contact experience also tend to be absorbed in conspiracy research. Nobody fits that better than Freeman. I've been following this guy off and on for years and part of me is mystified and the other part is fascinated.

Freeman (a pseudonym) has a pretty impressive web presence. He has an audio podcast series as well as a huge load of videos. As i prepped for this interview I got absorbed in both. I've included two videos below, and remember, these were created by someone who's had direct contact with UFOs.
