Hi, I'm Bright Garlick and I'd like to tell you about an alien encounter that I had on January 19th, 2011. . .

These are the opening words
to a series of fascinating youtube videos.

I have been meaning to watch these for several months now, but I was a little bit intimidated by the length of time required for this undertaking. These videos total up to two hours and 22 minutes. The reward of watching is that you get to hear BG's calm and insightful re-telling of what happened to him that day.

I watched them all this morning, and I am absolutely thunderstruck by the thoughtful voice of this man.

Similar to other encounters, there seems to be an odd warping how time is perceived, and it makes for a rather haunting and mystical narrative. Listening to his words, I sense that reality itself is malleable and fluid in ways that might be impossible for us to fully comprehend, but he describes these sensations beautifully. All this time seems essential as a way to attempt to describe what he felt and what he experienced in the presence of these non-human intelligence's.

The beings he encountered projected a kind of unconditional love, and he tries to articulate the complexities and the implications of how that felt - and what it might mean. Watching these videos is an extremely touching and sensitive experience.

The internet can be a bottomless pit of low quality videos. That said, there are some real gems in among the sensationalistic. I have listed and linked a series of highly recommended documentaries and archived excerpts.

The UFO Incident - (1975 - full movie) The story of Betty & Barney Hill Abduction staring James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons

Intruders - (1992 - full movie) Made for TV movie based on Budd Hopkin's book of the same name. Richard Crena plays a melding of both Budd Hopkins and Dr. John Mack.

It has Begun - (1974 - full documentary) Rod Serling narrates this impressive film.

Mysteries of the Gods - (1977 - full documentary) William Shatner plays is straight in this even -keeled documentary.

John Mack and Budd Hopkins - A public forum where these two researchers share their icdeas and differing conclutions.

UFOs The Secret History - An excellent documentary featuring Budd Hopkins, David Jacobs, Jerome Clark and a long list of other researchers and experiencers.

Experiencers - A documentary about Alien Abductions featuring research from Dr. John Mack Harvard Psychologist. Sadly. Dr. Mack appears only briefly in this film, his death having occurred soon after production began. One segment involves a New England couple with abduction experiences who videotaped an unidentified flying object hovering above a lake a few hours before they were interviewed.

The Chris Bledsoe Case - A good documentary on a single case of alien abduction. In Fayetteville, NC on January 8, 2007, a father and young adult son, both named Chris Bledsoe (Sr. and Jr.) experience something unusual. The father says he lost a couple hours of time and tells of seeing a small humanoid entity.

I am recommending something that was posted yesterday on Whitley Strieber's DREAMLAND. It's a report from Linda Moulton Howe. A witness describes a gyroscope UFO that he felt was Ezekiel's Wheel. The witness also shares some extremely heartfelt and moving emotions connected to this encounter.

Lampshades and heightened energy

Charis Melina Brown

In the final days of September of this year I went camping in the mountains with Charis Melina Brown. This whole thing came about after we did a 3-hour long audio interview. One of my strongest skills is to be taking people camping in a wilderness environment. In the outdoors, I am very pragmatic and motivated. When Charis told me that she had never been camping I realized she absolutely needed to get into the mountains and to sleep under the stars. I invited her to my home in the Rockies. Charis is very spiritual and intuitive. It seemed like a good balance of skills and talents. Our long term goal is to work as a team and create some sort of retreat with a camping component.

Our first meeting was late at night at the curb of the Idaho Falls airport. She arrived late, and we were both pretty chatty during the drive to my house. Lots to talk about and lots to share. When we got to my house, we were still in a rapid fire chat-mode.

Everything was calm and quiet. She was on one chair I was in another. Charis said something about alien abduction (I can't remember exactly what it was) but there was suddenly a defined audible tap that came from the lampshade behind Charis.

We both fell silent and she turned around to see what it was, and from where I sat I had a direct view of the lamp next to my couch.

I dismissed it saying,

"Oh that was just a moth bumping into the lampshade."

We started talking again, and then we both realized there wasn't any moth in the room, and the noise was too loud for that explanation.

During this time she said she was seeing sparkles and flashes in the room. I wasn't seeing anything, but I did sense a heightened energy of some sort.

The image of the lampshade shows up in the most vivid UFO dream I've ever experienced. It the dream, I saw a glowing orange lampshade in among some trees. Even as I looked at it, I said to myself, "That is NOT a lampshade!" (I wrote about it that dream, and the flurry of synchronicites that followed)

In the New Testament, Jesus talks about a basket over a lamp. The basket is clearly described as a lampshade. (Note: some translations say bowl instead of basket) Here are two passages.

        Matthew 5:14 - 15

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lamp-stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

        Mark 4:21 - 23
        New International Version

He said to them, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl [basket] or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear."

Now, I am not one to quote this kind of stuff, but it seemed curiously relevant to the conversation Charis and I were having when we heard the loud "tap" from the lampshade. We were talking about fully coming forward with our experiences. Anyway, that's very much the what I see in these bible passages.

Now, the sound really did sound like a moth flying into the the shade (but louder), a perfectly normal sound in the summer when they are flying around in my house at night. But this would have been a really big moth flying kamikaze style into the lampshade to make a noise as loud as we heard. And, this was late September well after the moth season of summer. And most important, there wasn't any moth to be seen. I had a direct view of the lampshade, and I feel strongly I would have noticed it.

Also... The moth and all things mothy has it's place in the paranormal with the Mothman lore from Point Pleasant Ohio and John Keel's book The Mothman Prophesies. I'm not sure where to go with this.

And... I was a guest on Always Record (episode 23, another 3-hour interview) with Alan Abbadessa Green to talk about synchronicities. We got totally sucked into the weirdness of the mysterious specter known only as the lampshade. That's from the show notes written by Alan.

audio conversation with Yvonne Smith

Yvonne Smith is a clinical hypnotherapist who began her therapy practice in 1990. She started working with PTSD victims using hypnosis as a way to help them assisting them to work through and cope with their traumatic experiences. She observed that some of her subjects were describing a pattern of alien abduction and other close encounter experiences. 

In 1991 Yvonne founded CERO [Close Encounter Resource Organization] which provides personal attention and maintains active monthly support meetings for people who have had anomalous contact experiences.

She has worked with Budd Hoppkins and Dr. John Mack as she continued her research with abductees.

In 2008 she published the book CHOSEN where she examines a series of abduction cases in detail, including extensive un-edited hypnosis transcripts.

This interview is an hour long, and to make the best use of our time, I didn’t bother ask any of the normal introductory questions and jumped right into the more challenging issues that surround the abduction phenomenon.

Audio conversation with Chase Kloetzke

Chase is, among a lot of other things, a UFO field investigator. For the first hour of this interview we look into a very strange set of events in a muddy cornfield with several other witnesses. I had heard her mention this story in some other podcast, and I was amazed at the intensity, and I wanted to understand it better. We look at this one experience in great detail.

Recently, Chase left her role at MUFON after 15 years as a Field Investigator and Star Team manager. We talk about the serious problems at that very political organization and why she felt the need to leave.

For more information on her experiences and what others have been through, I’m going to suggest a series of informative interviews from Jerry Pippin under the title MUFON UNDER SIEGE. You’ll hear Chase tell her demoralizing experiences within that organization. You’ll also hear from Elaine Douglas former Utah state directors for MUFON. Both Chase and I are forced to conclude that MUFON has been infiltrated from the top down by some government agency with an unknown agenda.

Chase is also the host of the audio show Project White Paper, and co-host of Encounters, both on the Global Radio Alliance. She also started (along with Lorin Cutts) something called The Resistance. This is an organization meant to promote on-line grass roots organizations to counteract the venomous way that mainstream news is dealing with the UFO phenomenon.

There is an almost forgotten genre of film-making that emerged in a narrow chapter of the early 1970's. Within this sub-set is a messy blending of creepy occult, ancient aliens and UFO abduction, and many of these were made for TV movies. Something weird emerged that seems quite evocative looking back on it now.

I apologize in advance, Chris and I get into in a way that might seem annoying. It might feel like you are eavesdropping on two film dweebs at a comic book convention. To me it was totally nerd-tastic, but the uninitiated might not be able to keep up with our reflexive one-upmanship dialog.
