Kenneth Arnold's daughter talks about her father

Outspoken daughter of Kenneth Arnold, Kim Arnold.

Kim Arnold is the daughter of Idaho pilot Kenneth Arnold, who reported a series of chevron shaped flying objects in 1947. He plays an important role in modern UFO history because this sighting created a media frenzy, and it was the genesis of the term Flying Saucer.

UFO history just keeps getting stranger. Kim is speaking out now, over 60 years since the event, and the story is much stranger than just a respected pilot seeing something odd in the sky. Seems like there was more going on, he saw multiple UFOs on three occasions, he was fascinated by synchronicities, he thought that UFOs were probably living organic entities - and - he even witnessed orbs in his home!

There is even a curious detail about a great gray owl (listen for it)!

intriguing UFO report in Utah (with audio link)

There is a very interesting audio report posted on Whitley Strieber's DREAMLAND. Linda Moulton Howe reports on a UFO experience in Utah. It is fascinating and scary, complete with missing time, multiple whitneses and three cars mysteriously relocated miles away.

 Follow up info / April 6th 2012 

There is more to this case than one might imagine. First, in the comment section it was noted that there was a UFO video on the Weather Channel that featured a glowing blue image in American Fork, near Salt Lake City Utah. (Linked HERE)

The event with the blue-lights over American Fork Utah took place the evening of Jan. 27th 2012.

The event reported by Linda Moulton Howe took place in the early morning hours of Dec. 13th, 2011.

This video of the blue-lights was immediately used as a way to "solve" the report from Linda Moulton Howe. But, another video appeared shortly afterwords. This is a follow-up showing an young man named Andrew Smith building a funny contraption in his garage. The "UFO" was constructed of gas filled black garbage bags and a ring of blue LED lights.

These videos are interesting because they show how these unrelated events can cloud a very intriguing report.

eye witness account of a close-up UFO sighting

This is a very clear and heartfelt bit of first-person testimony. I was particularly impressed when she described the occupant of the craft, her description matches what i have heard personally and read in the literature. My impression is that this woman is sharing a very real memory.

I don't have much information about this compelling clip. All I know is that it's an excerpt from a BBC documentary from 1977. For me, there is something captivating about 16mm footage shot in one long take on a cloudy day. Beautiful.

During my on-going research into this mystifying phenomenon, I've had the chance to speak to a handful of folks who have worked with Dr. John Mack. Each of them have praised his insights and his compassionate nature.

I am deeply impressed with Dr. Mack's ability to grapple with this elusive experience. I'm glad he was such a vocal spokesman for his own research. We are all fortunate that he was so open to allowing these filmmakers access to himself and his patients.

More weirdness with UFOs and the number 1234 involving one of my heroes, Larry Warren. Just a few minutes ago Larry added me to his list of friends on facebook. He plays a central role in the Bentwaters case from 1980, perhaps the single most well documented UFO case in history. He also wrote the book LEFT AT EAST GATE, along with Peter Robbins, about the Rendalsham Forest incident.

I was noted as his latest friend, and now his list totals 1234. For folks who haven't dug thru this blog, I've had a LOT of synchronicities with the number 1234.

Also, I was surpised to see his birthday, and he's two days shy of being a year older than me. (see THIS!)

audio conversation with Peter Robbins

Budd and Peter in NYC.

For over 30 years Peter worked closely with Budd Hopkins. This was during a chapter of history where the UFO abduction phenomenon first made it's way into the public's psyche.

Together, Peter and I spend over two-hours in conversation about Budd and his life as an artist and researcher. I have some very rewarding memories of the short time I spent with Budd in 2007 and 2008.

Peter sought out Budd in the late 70's to try to help make sense of his own odd experience. When Peter was a boy on Long Island both he and his sister Helen saw five silver discs hover silently above the neighbors house in full daylight.

Helen was Peter's sister, and she spent time with Budd as a way to help with her own set of life experiences. Helen was a gifted poet, author, actress, horsewoman, naturalist, and gold and platinum record-award winning singer and songwriter. An electrifying stage presence, Helen performed with the Helen Wheels Band. She died in January of 2000.

Fred Burks is a very dedicated researcher who is trying to make known horrors of mind control. He has been working hard to share reliable verifiable information on this challenging subject. He has a web-site called WANT TO KNOW, where he has been cataloging a wealth of substantiated documentation.

The focus of our conversation was mind control and how it seems to overlap with divergent topics. We went into the deep waters, and looked at UFOs, alternate realms, time travel, 2012, occult rituals, Dr. Steven Greer and Luciferian agendas. Somehow, these concepts are interwoven int the claims of the people who report trauma based mind-control.

Fred is quite the fascinating fellow, he was a an insider at the state department and worked as a translator for the department of state speaking Indonesian. He spent time in high level meetings translating for Bill Clinton, George Bush Jr., Condolisa Rice and Dick Cheney. He left his job after going public with some of the dirty deeds of the Bush administration after 9/11.

rectangular UFO and odd memory problems

Reference drawn by the witness of a 40 to 60-yard-long, rectangular-shaped object floating silently less than 600 feet off the ground.

There was an extremely curious UFO sighting on Oct 16th in Oregon. The witness and his daughter both claim "strange memory" problems after watching an oddly shaped rectangle object while driving in their car. The report is fascinating, linked HERE.

I am struck by it's similarity to a recent post on UFO's shaped like buildings (see below), linked HERE.

Radio Mystery Theater predicts UFO abductions

During my youth I was absolutely fascinated with the nightly show, The CBS Radio Mystery Theater. It was on AM radio at 11:07 each weeknight, and I would lie in bed and listen to the drama on my clock radio. There were stories of the paranormal, ghosts and monsters. The show was hosted by E.G. Marshall, who had a hauntingly beautiful voice.

This story is a fictional re-telling of a series of UFO abductions. The original air-date was November 25, 1974, well before the proliferation in the media of abduction accounts. The set of plot points closely matches many of the elements of the typical UFO abduction account (including mind control, telepathy and implants) and I find this fascinating.

I had a missing time event in the fall of 1974, (I don't know the exact date) and this story was first aired shortly after that experience, potentially only a few weeks later.

Episode title: The Sighting

This is an excellent essay where researcher Chris Holly shares a personal experience when she was 14 years old. Note that she tells of her parents being angry with her for being out so late, I have a similar memory. Also, she uses the term "compelled" to describe why she is writing about these issues now. I've also used that very same term to describe my own need to write this on-line blog.

Budd Hopkins and Dr. John Mack share their findings, and their differences. John deals with the multi-dimensional and spiritual aspects, in contrast Budd sees the experience as something more sinister. Video-taped in Boston in 1997.

This busy title graphic doesn't reflect the sparse and level-headed tone of the content.

I am going to editorialize on the state of UFO information and it's visual tone. I need to express my deepest abhorrence to the imagery used to promote videos like this one here, and the one in the post below. I loath the sensationalistic portrayal on DVD boxes, book covers and video title graphics. These slapped together photoshop constructions make my heart sink. I feel a deep "mission" of sorts to try to get this very real subject to be taken seriously, and shabby visuals like these are a pathetic step backwards.

UFOs: The Secret History is a very serious documentary created for Canadian television. It is shot almost entirely with just a stationary camera and people speaking about the issues surrounding the phenomenon. This is entirely engaging, and a welcome relief compare to the frenetic pace of cable TV documentaries designed for zero attention span.

What is most impressive is that there is over 2 hours and 23 minutes of bonus interviews as part of the DVD package, and that's what I've included above. This extra footage features a series of interviews focused entirely on the UFO abduction phenomenon. The video features Budd Hopkins, David Jacobs, Jerome Clark, Dr. Janet Elizabeth Colli, Travis Walton, mythologists, psychologists, and a series of abductees sharing their personal experiences.

I haven't watched the documentary in it's entirety, nor have I watched all of the bonus interviews. But I feel I've seen enough to recommend this long set of conversations. I deeply respect the filmmaker, David Cherniack, for treating the viewer as an grown-up.

UFOs shaped like buildings

I just read a very strange article. Researcher Chris Holly has collected reports of UFOs shaped like buildings. A bit of Forteian weirdness that leaves me perplexed. A series of five eeirie UFO sightings, all shaped like buildings. This is a very good article, with a few photos and a drawing too.

This craft was amazing an L-shaped building complete with balconies at the rear (three of them). Below the balconies were two mesh dishes shaped similar to Butterfly wings. These were pulsing a blue/purple light and seemed to be propelling the craft.

Underside we saw three white lights with huge pipes between them. There were two lights at the rear and one light at the front. Also every straight edge was like a fluorescent tube. The craft looked as if constructed of concrete with a yellow appearance.

This craft emitted a heavy electrical humming noise as it passed over about fifty feet in the air. The building was about 6 stories high and moving along at about 50 miles per hour at top speed.

June 15, 1931 - August 21, 2011

I’m very sad to announce that Budd Hopkins died today, August 21, at 1:35 pm. Budd had been under hospice care for about three weeks, at his home in New York. The combination of liver cancer and pneumonia led to his death. His daughter Grace Hopkins-Lisle and I were with him almost continuously during these past weeks. He was not in any pain throughout any of the process, and he received the best possible care and loving support from those closest to him. Today he gradually slipped away, and simply quietly stopped breathing. He died peacefully and without any struggle, with Grace, Grace’s husband Andrew, and me by his side.

Thanks to all of you for being such strong supporters of this extraordinary man, who has contributed so much to our lives, in so many different ways.

I just received this sad email from my friend Peter Robbins, I have reprinted it (above) in it's entirety.

I had the honor of meeting Budd as I tried to make some sense out of my life experiences. My most cherished memory was the afternoon I alone with him in his home in New York. I was deeply impressed with his kindness and compassion. The world has lost a pioneering spirit, and a deeply caring soul.

significant FBI documents?

A momentous piece of paper as the smoking-gun? Or more clever disinformation? Click on the image for a hi-res view.

In the last few days the media has been buzzing with news stories concerning the release of FBI UFO files. I am very cautious to get worked up whenever there is a release of nothing more than pieces of paper. I don't really see it as conclusive "proof" anything. Sadly, I have a sorta short attention span for this ominous stuff about government.

Dan Mitchell (of the LUMINOSITY blog) pointed out some details in one document that he found most intriguing. He writes about it in a recent post, linked HERE. He addresses the clues within the text that point to some sort of occult knowledge .

The document is dated July 8th 1947. This is the same day as the infamous headlines in the Roswell Daily Record, the local newspaper. See the image below.

In the elusive document there is a series of numbered points, noted below. I found three of them to be most interesting. Weird stuff for an internal memo, especially from that era.

There is something I didn't know at the time of the posting above: these are NOT new releases. ALL the UFO files at the FBI's Vault site were declassified in 1976, and have been on the FBI's original site since that time.

People are assuming that because the FBI's Vault site is new, that the files are therefore newly-released, but they have been used and referenced in dozens of books and articles for at least 30-plus years!
